According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2008 92,000 foreign tourists and 62,000 Estonian residents stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia. The total number of tourists did not change significantly compared to the November of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter 359,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 14% less than in the same month of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2012, 154,000 tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 5% more than in January the year earlier. For the first time, the number of tourists from Russia exceeded the number of tourists from Finland.
According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2013, 163,000 tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 6% more than in January a year earlier. One third more tourists came from Russia than from Finland.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2013, over half a million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 5% more than in the same period of the previous year. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists increased.
Today, on 10 January the Government of the Republic approved the list of statistical actions for the years 2013–2017. In 2013, Statistics Estonia will organise over 200 statistical actions.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2011 compared to the previous year, the electricity production from renewable sources has increased by 13%. During the last five years the share of electricity generated from oil shale has decreased by nearly a tenth. At the same time the electricity production from renewable sources has increased eight times.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2013, 80% of households in Estonia had access to the Internet at home. The share of such households has increased five percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
